Blonde Brownies

  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 oz choc chips
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 egg slightly beaten

Sift all dry ingredients together & set aside. Melt butter in saucepan; remove from heat. Add firmly packed brown sugar & mix well - let cool slightly. Add egg & vanilla. Add flour mixture, a small amount at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add chopped nuts last. Dough will be very firm - pat into greased 9x9x2 brownie pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. Bake in moderate oven at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Cool in pan - DON’T attempt to cut brownies until they are thoroughly cool in pan!!!!

You can double the recipe and bake in a 9x13 pan.

This is my signature dish.....
