Sugar Cookies

• 2/3 C shortening (parkay)
• 3/4 C sugar

-------------------------------------------
*cream together

then add.....

• 1/2 tsp orange peel
• 1/2 tsp vanilla
• 1 egg
• 4 tsp milk
• 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
  -----------------------------------------

*mix well

then add.......

• 2 cups all purpose flour

Freeze for 2 hours / refrigerate for 4 hours. Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.

You can use this recipe all year long to make themed cookies or just plain sugar cookies. I use this recipe a lot around holidays. If your using cookie cutters make sure your flour them as well.

For decorating the cookies, I use pre-mixed frosting (cream cheese, vanilla) and add food color.
